Pecan Wheat Bread


Yield: 2 Loaves
2 cups whole - wheat flour 2-1/2 cups all - purpose flour
5 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons baking soda
1-1/2 teaspoons salt 1 cup brown sugar
3 cups sour milk or buttermilk 4 tablespoons salad oil
1-1/2 cups chopped Pecans

Pre heat oven to 350° F. Stir unsifted whole - wheat flour into sifted all - purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Sift together. Stir in 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar. Add sour milk or buttermilk and salad oil; stir smooth. Add Pecans. Pour into 2 well - greased loaf pans. Bake at 350° F., about 80 minutes.
